Government 50 -- Introduction to Political Methodology
Course Description: Can exit polls detect election fraud? What are the determinants of political corruption? Is Islam incompatible with open government? In what sense (if any) does democracy reduce the probability of war? This course introduces basic statistical techniques used in quantitative political methodology to give scientifically rigorous answers to these questions and many others. Topics covered include descriptive statistics, sampling, estimation, hypothesis tests, and applied linear and logistic regression.
