Home Classes Research
Here we list some research groups that may be of interest to those interested in studying statistics at MIT.

At the Sloan School of Management, the OR/Stat Group includes ORC affiliated faculty working on statistics.

The following research groups are affiliated with CSAIL:
Learning and Intelligent Systems
Spoken Language Systems
MIT Computer Vision
Medical Vision Group
Computational Cognitive Science Group
Center for Biological and Computational Learning

There are several members of the Applied Mathematics group with research interests related to statistics (e.g., random matrix theory and probabilistic algorithms).

There are also several seminar series that frequently have talks on statistics:
- The ORC seminar series is held Thursdays at 4pm during the regular semester.
- Seminars offered through CSAIL can be found at the CSAIL event calendar.
- Just down the street, the Harvard statistics department holds colloquia on Mondays at 4pm during the regular semesters.
- Right next to MIT, Microsoft Research New England holds a Machine Learning Seminar Series biweekly on Mondays at 4pm.
